Serving Pennsylvania
District three
The Tuscarora Wildland Fire Crew (TWFC) was founded by Scott Kerstetter, Steve Kidd, Craig Kline, and a few other members of the community in 2014, and is one of 20 currently incorporated Wildland Fire Support Crews in Pennsylvania.
Our goal is to create and outfit a functional support crew to focus on the southern portion of the District 3 wildfire response area. This area is made up of Perry, Cumberland, Juniata, Mifflin, and Huntingdon County. Pennsylvania wildfire season usually runs from mid March to mid May, and then from Mid September to mid November. Crews may be called upon for local fires, or can be dispatched to other districts throughout the states.
Interested members do not need to be affiliated with a volunteer fire company, and all the necessary training will be provided free of charge.
Requirements for full membership are:
-At least 18 years of age
-Clean criminal background
-Physically fit
We are seeking active members/participants so please check our calendar for information on upcoming meetings!
